	The Common rat, Rattus norvegicus is far more common than the black rat, Rattus rattus. It's significance as a pest is proportionally larger too. You can get biological data about them here. Click the name of the species you want to know about.

The three main rodent pest species are:

Mus domesticus - The House Mouse

Rattus norvegicus - The Common, Norway or Sewer rat.

Rattus rattus - the Ship, Roof or Black rat.


	The house mouse, Mus domesticus is the main mouse pest species. It is prolific throughout the UK and indeed much of the world. Living outdoors part or all of the year, it is of greatest pest significance during autumn and winter months when it may venture into homes, and food stores in search of food and warmth.
