I hang mine on the washing line for forty eight hours, mate. Honestly, I do! Do it to flag the neighbours that they're among us, but mostly for this pair next door, my west side.

Before I got here, they shot off to the Bahama's. They ran a resteraunt out there. Now, while nothing in itself, the women wears the trousers in there and she's probably used to dealing with those of a lesser 'status' than herself, on a regular basis. Well, ye know the British approach there; If backward 'Johnny Foreigner' can't understand what ye telling him? Speak Loudly and Clearly. Ennunciate.

So, when I first mentioned that 'we' had mice, and that they were harbouring beneath their shed, she LOUDLY pronounced that, " There Can be No mice under OUR shed. OUR shed is on a solid slab of concrete! " Oh aye? And what's that 1 1/2" thick base laid on? Scotch Mist?

Having explained that, anyway, I'm taking them hand over fist, from hard against my fence, up where their shed is ... And not to worry; I'm a Rat Catcher. I have the kit and know how to deal with 'anything'. Modern kit ..? " OUR Boy was a Proper Rat Catcher. He used to put this white powder down ... " I wonder if he got that off the Bermuda eBay, eh? Anyway .....

So there I was. Slagged off by insinuation. My knowledge of what I do denied. No match for their " Boy " in Barbadoss, or his White Powder. Ye following me?

And so, the mice came and I wiped them out. The rats came. I wiped them out. I'm getting quite pleased with myself here at a job well done ~ for the general good of such Society as this Drive represents. But Her? " Caught one down by the back doors, last night, Penn'. " No. We don't have them near the house....." Ask yeself; Would You have put up with this much sh!t?!

Now I see they're trying to lure local cats onto their property. She believes in cats. They leave bowls of food out, 24 / 7!!!!!

Me? I take them as they come ~ under her fence. Then I hang them on my line, in plain view, for 48 hours. And say nothing.

People? Yes, mate: Ungrateful B*stards, many of them!

I have often said it to customers who ask "what is the worst things you deal with", they expect the answer to be rats, mice or fleas, NO -"ITS SOME CUSTOMERS"
I understand rats and many of the pests we deal with, I understand their needs and requirements, even down to the pyscology of out witting squirrels, but CUSTOMERS???? Can never understand why they feel they have to go in to self denial - "I AM NOT FEEDING THEM, BUT I SEE THEM EVERY DAY ON THE BIRD TABLE" or "I HAVE ONLY HAD THE RAT FOR A DAY OR TWO" when the evidence shows that the problem is long established.....
May be the industry should run a course on customers.........

Ben, do you think that if the Council shut down their pest control division all the work will come to you.
What about the jobs for those on low income, are you going to do those.
Funny I hear more Councils taking Pest Control back in house here in South East.
When I started up having looked at market knew council offered PC so have to look elsewhere, didn't the rest of you do that or is the council supposed to give up or give you jobs?

This morning my dogs were going nuts barking alot, i thought arhh i got another? went down the back to check my live catch trap, there he was in the trap squealing as it saw me.
This is the tenth rat i have caught in 3 months, i can hear peeps minds thinking / he got dogs so its his own fault \ nope all my food is in contained bins dogs are cleaned out at least twice a day all going straight into the mains (not bagged up).
My neighbours both sides of me feed the birds, the 1 side overdoes it, well you know the rest, and all attraction.
I', waiting for a visit off the EHO from complaints from neighbours about my dogs barking, to which i will gladly tell them where to go and inform the EHO that rats about are making my dogs bark, and the cause is from the neighbours . I could put poison down but won't i use the dead rats then for ferret food.

nick i have read a report in the pcn about not forgetting the basics and the underprivileged and am thinking of a way to do just that.i am sure we could all spare a few hours a week and do the job for cost,we all know when we have earned enough to keep going and belive me i am no charity nutter but putting a little back does not hurt.it could always lead to other more profitable work another way of advertising .
