Reply author: andyb I went to see the farmer that had Weil's last night, He is firing on all cylinders again now. No contact from the the EH as yet but seeing as another farmer in the locality is being treated with the same antibiotics I don't think it will be long.
Reply author: Helen HSE always have loads of the Leptospirosis cards on their stand. Check them out next week at pest tech. Might be worth getting a couple to leave with any farmers you have contracts with. I canoe a bit and in the early 90's we had a doctor go down with it from some swimming in the River Dee at Chester. Fortunately the BCU had issued on the back of everyones membership cards, weils disease symptoms. Her husband was a doctor and pumped her full of antibiotics and she was back paddling within a couple of months.
Reply author: andyb The jaundice is now just about clear from the farmer. We both made page 2 in the Gloucestershire news paper head line "Rat Catcher Spots A Man's Deadly illness"
