Subject: WHAT'S EATING MY DOOR FRAMES!!! HELP!!!

Hi, I live in the woods in Central Virginia, and I have every single exterminator stumped! Freshly painted wooden door frames and columns are being eaten by something. They only seem to scrape off the paint on door edges and the edges of my columns. No holes being made, and they don't eat on the flat parts of the wood. All I see around are grasshoppers and I know they don't damage wood. I find droppings under the area where they have chewed. The droppings are similar to mice droppings, except they are white. I do have a lot of lizards around, but again, I don't think they eat wood. It happens at around 3pm every day. I have never seen it happen, but that's when I discover the damage. Whatever it is moves fast! Any clues?? Come on...SOMEBODY has to know what this could be? They eat where I have just freshly painted.... I have no carpenter ants or termites...What could be eating my door frame edges???

Message: I do own several dogs. Are you saying to keep him up on the deck where the damage is?
Maybe, but for now I have set a bunch of glue pads, and of course, after I did that, no damage. Whatever it is, is smart too!

Message: Rat and mouse droppings will go white (or light biege) because the rodent is eating a food source that contains high bone meal, such as dog biscuits or even bone meal for plants. The chewing of the door could simply be rodents trying to gain access or usually trying to get out.
