i would not normally take the time to comment on posting however i feel somthing must be said with regards to massmurderer,s aparent slandering of scubaferrett, i am surprised that the so called moderators would allow this forum to be used as one persons political stage ,we may all have opinions of people we meet evrey day however this should not be the place to air theese opinions.
just for the record i think i know whom scubaferrett is, and i can honestly say that in my dealing with him i have found to be proffesional in all aspects of business and knowledgeable in all his dealings he will probaly not thank me for saying so but i feel it is my duty to point this out .
may i also piont out i am 6ft,2" and 15 stone and i would think twice before calling him an idiot

Its easy for people to use cyber space to make threats etc, responding in kind makes it worse.
As for the moderaters it is a no win situation, though I believe that no one moddie should edit/delete a post without reference to original poster and another moddie or Editor.
Too easy for those with a vested interest to cause upset or get their own back!!
But the moddie bit done to death,Gary when I was involved in shooting/gun trade I had the abuse on phone funny always with held number.
Same as posts where people knock threaten never really reveal where they are.
Don't loose any sleep over it.

The case you are talking about was in direct response to a compaint. It was in the early days of this forum, we have learnt alot since then, and I would now ask you to moderate your own posting. If you think you can do a better job you are welcome to volunteer. No-one ever thinks their post needs moderating! Just to set the record straight I will list the times I have moderated:

1. When a supplier tried to use a thread to sell.

2. When a complaint about racism was recieved and the complainant was not willing to say exactly which posting was offensive and which was acceptable humour.

If I got it wrong on either of those occasions I am sorry. Lets move on. We've done the moderation thing to death.

possibly cos you go about it arse about face?

when it does'nt need doing your there like a bolt of lightning adjusting peoples comments to suit yourselfs, but when a thread obviously needs moderating or even locking to stop the slandering of fellow forum members ........nowhere to be seen.

moderation should be a last resort? double standards IMO

pathetic.

I do not like the personal critisms made against scubaferret either; but I for one, have not recieved a complaint. Because of the delay between the threads I thought a discussion must have taken place off forum. We need contributors to use their common sense and be self policing - moderation should be a last resort.

If anyone feels they have been unfairly treated, or critised unfairly, please e-mail me, or anyother moderator direct, and if its appropriate, we can take action.
