Congrats on your first successful training day at weekend.
Its' not just about bits of paper or points, though they are mportant

It is the fact that you met up and interacted, shared info and socialised, so well done.

There are too many 'consultants' running expensive training courses, we need more social events and open discussions. That is why fora like this are so useful.

They were free Philip. Very good quality as well, I ordered two but Bryan Silcox who made them was so overcome by the demand that he gave mine to two of the candidates who weren't involved with the UKPCO, he has told me I will have to wait for mine until the next training day. Cheek of it all. the next subject looks to be trapping vertebrate pests. It will be based on the Kannia, Fenn, Body grip and possibly snapp-e traps. One or two other days are in the offing. If anyone on here would like to help with the training days please feel free to get involved.

Hi AndyB - what sort of coinage are these 2 dibbers if they were up for general sale ? as I could use a pair of those if they become available myself.
cheers
phil

Nick thanks for the vote of confidence.
I notice that Adrian called them Tabs, with Talunex it should be Pellets. Remember read the lable the formulation is pellet. LOL

Also forgot to mention BRY

He supplied me with 2 stainless steel dibbers, 1 with a fat end for putting tabs in runs

These are the best dibbers I have ever owned, many thanks to BRY

Nick, as you have gathered, it was a very well received course.

From my point of view, i have been on several courses where theory was taught, but have never been involved with mole control, so it has passed me by.

I now have the opportunity to carry out mole control so the UKPCO course came at the right time. It was very hands on, 3 people showed, in detail, how to use 3 different traps, in a field full of moles. They gave a way tricks of the trade that made mole control much less of a challenge. And you could do it yourself under guidance.

Additionally we also had the guidance and practical on Talunex and Topex applicators, and are now certificated to use such stuff if we require.

It was of course a good day for meeting up people we only knew by code names, as you say one of the good points of the day.

It could also have been cheap !! But I hit a brick on the M18 overtaking a HGV and then immediately got flashed by a speed camera at 60mph in a 50mph zone !

I now have a field and some traps and I am going to practise. Will then need to work out how to charge for my new found expertise !!!

Adrian.
