hello

im currently a fumigation technician living in new zealand and was wanting to know what job prospects there are in britain (as ill be living there from july this year)

my job in nz mainly deals in Methylbromide and i fumigate containers import/export as well as doing tent fumigations.

ive tried locating companies on the net but in this field im finding it extremely difficult so i was wanting to know:

does britain fumigate their import/export freight by Methylbromide fumigations, and what companies should i approach for work.

ive been told renttokill is one of the biggies in england is this true?

any help i could get from you's would be much appretiated

cheers =)

Rentokil do a lot of fumigation inland at all locations. usually the customer only knows of problems in container when they start to unload it at site. nottingham is a good office for fumigations. do a lot for 'boots' 'imperial tobacco' and other big companies. so trav i would reccommend Rentokil and i would reccommend Nottingham to live. Good Luck !

Where abouts will you be living? The fumigation of containers is carried out mainly at the container ports which are Southampton, Felixstowe, London (Tilbury and Thamesport), and Liverpool. Only occasionally is it done at the inland container bases, so you'd need to be living near to one of those ports really.

BTW WTF are you leaving such a fantastic country to come and live here?

Hello antone. (doh!)

Best try "anyone"

The specialists in fumigation here include:

Rentokil (multi site), Ecolab (multi site), Igrox (East Anglia), Eleberts Pest Force (North West England). Any others worth a mention? - possibly Eagle Pest Control or Cannon Hygiene, though I don't know whether they have fumigation specialists. Others please add to the list.

Methyl Bromide use fading away fast though, so best to brush up on Ally Phosphide and some new stuff called Profume. As you can probably tell, I'm not a specialist in fumigation.

Comments antone?
