Hi everyone!!!

I`m new in the forum, my name is manuel and I`m from Spain.

Allways we have had under control de mice population in pigs farms using bromadiolone 0.01% baits, but in the last year we have problems with this. Hundred of bait kg are eaten by de mice and their population never decrease.

The problem is that thousands and thousands of mouses has been moved into the farms by a mole plague.

Now we have change to brodifacoum 0.005% and we have increased our treatment periodicity to 15 days, before of these, we visited only one time each month.

What do you think about our problem?

Dou you think that we are on the right way?

Excume for my poor english,if shakespeare would revive, he will kick my ass, LOL.

Hi Mahurtad,
As a first stance in your mouse campaign - you need to know what your species of mouse is. Do you know this? Is it wood mouse or house mouse? IF it is wood mouse, then to increase the potency of the a.i. (from bromadiolone to brodifacoum) is putting unneccesary environmental pressure on non-target species, as wood mice will always keep moving in at this time of year, and would have no tolerance to rodenticides that I am aware of. I would suggest that you break back trap at least twenty or so in different areas to see what your target species is.

If it is wood mice then you could go back to a less potent (chronic) poison, rather than an acute, and still get a 100% kill, but be aware of the huge potetial for re-infestation.

Let us all know what you are trapping, and we'll "speak" again.

Hope this helps

I don't know any Spanish so - goodbye!

regards Dave

This could be the answer.
Editor's note: Many Spanish farmers called the animals moles
Just in case some people miss that in the text.
