Yep. I drooled! TBF; Ye really should get ye own little tin labels made up. Like 'Youngs' used. Fix them to the stuff ye make for others.

Because, I'm telling ye; No one produces work like you do any more. I can well and truly envisage some Trap Collector or what ever, fifty years from now, standing there and gazing at one of your pieces, bursting with pride of ownership. As he points out to his mate how it still bears its original " TBF " label.

Today, we have S. Young and Sons. Tomorrow, they'll have 'TBF'.

That Hive is a modern antique, mate. Beautiful

Haha, well i wouldnt go that far, but there is something about handmade (albeit some machine intervention) woodcraft isnt there?

That one is just a prototype as i am going to make a bach of them up for next spring and get myself into some beekeping. Hopefully will have some interesting topics and photos to bring to the mix next year!

Looks smashing - you won't want to run a blow-torch over that to disinfect. If any of you guys wanting bees to fill your hives are in/around West London and want me to put a swarm call your way next spring then let me know.

Not that I know anything about hives but that looks a well built bit of kit.

When I am back to full health some hives are something on the agenda, we have a place to keep them and the will. Not the know how yet but will be giving it a go.

Thanks for the comments guys, an updated photo will no doubt "bee" coming this way tommorow if the wasps hold off.

Gamekeeper, not dovetails, oh no sir, those are box joints, how nice it would be to have dovetail joints? but WAY too time consuming, the box joints are quick to produce on a well set out table saw with a 3/4" width saw blade.

All i need now is a stack of red cedar and i will be mass producing, well, after a little tinkering LOL

thats a cracking bit of craftmanship

Langstroth is the way to go IMO

Just a bit of advice for you new to beekeeping, if you have a new hive try your best to get some frames with some old comb to make the hive smell like a hive.
Dont forget your varoa mesh board

Yep big fish, I am partial to a little honey, the first thing to learn is that you will never stop learning

fortunately for me I have a mate who does nothing but work wise than produce his 1ton of honey per year, but even he has problems even with his 38 years of experiance

A good book I can recommend to all you who may be interested is this one, shop around you can get it cheaper forsure ....... http://www.borders.co.uk/book/a-practical-manual-of-beekeeping-how-to-keep-bees-and-develop-your-full-potential-as-an-apiarist/1020860/
