Remember not so long ago I purchased some Talunex gas tablets without any checks being made ? ............WELL.............I went to do a mole job this morning 21/12/06 (useing traps ) and the customer came out with 4 flasks of Phostoxin gas tablets saying could I also use these to get rid of his moles as well .................................I asked him where he got them from "Oh I got them yesterday at a farm suppliers in Barnard Castle ".......I asked him if he had been trained to use gas tablets "No ,never had the need to be trained " he says "I always buy the gas tablets myself , and then get someone else to put them down for me " I ask him "Did they ask you for proof that you can use them ,and that you are trained " "hell no he says , I been getting them for years from same supplier ,they know I am a land owner(own property of 5.5 acres, of which he does not make any mony from his land ) and they say thats just as good .
Since when has being a land owner qualify a person to purchase lethal gas products?(Helen has now explained about this )
(By the way I did`nt use the phostoxin tablets ...................I only got a Talunex applicator)

I have just had a plesent phone call from Helen explaining the laws over these product , and I`m more clear as to it all now .

I am sure you will agree Brian, ridiculous as they are, that is the way of things.
The only good thing is that your customer did not use these as that then is an offence but where as he may not, how many others do?
And you are right, this should be stopped.

| same thing went to a mole job last week,statley home owner went to farm supplies bought gas gives to head gardener and says stick this in,no applicator no gloves no mask,gardener keels over,two days off sick (full pay of course) hush hush.unbeleivable. |
