The (US) National Pest Management Association (NPMA) recently reported the latest industry growth figures showing continued prosperity in the US professional pest control industry. The latest research, conducted by Specialty Products Consultants, indicates an annualized growth of service revenue over the last four years of 5.6% with total revenues topping out at $6.5 billion.
According to NPMA Public Affairs Director Cindy Mannes, While the industry has proven recession proof over the past four years, much of this years growth can be attributed to a strong housing market and improving economy.
Mannes points out that pests continue to be a serious problem posing great risks to Americans property and health. More and more, homeowners are turning to professional pest control to solve their household pest problems. Homeowners are realizing that pests are no longer merely a nuisance. The potential health threats they pose as well as the impact they can have on a homeowners bank account is enough to motivate any homeowner to outsource their pest problems.
NPMA sponsored consumer researched revealed: 24% of Americans believe the risks associated with pest infestations have increased over the past few years 44% of Americans believe there is an increased need for professional pest control services 72% of Americans believe professional pest control services are more effective than DIY products
The NPMA, a non-profit organization with more than 5,000 members, was established in 1933 to support the pest management industrys commitment to the protection of public health, food and property, reflected both in the continuing education of the pest control professional and the dissemination of timely information to homeowners and businesses.
