Rodenticides are substances used to control populations
of rodent pests. They are generally active
on ingestion, although they also exist as gases
and contact formulations.
Ideally,
good rodenticides are safe, humane, efficacious
and selective.
The
ideal rodenticide was first described by Gutteridge
in 1972.
