Andy, IMHO, ye saved that guys life.

I've had Weils Disease. Full blown case of that top sante varient. He may well have had that strain. If so, he wouldn't likely have lasted the week without some serious pumping full of Anti Bio's. Two or three days from how ye found him, he'd have been too weak to lift that phone and too delirious anyway. And then he'd die.

I too found my GP of the time an absolute sh*t head. They seem to think Weils is like Ricketts or Scabies; An old time disease. Something we just don't get any more? Bull Sh*t!!!

I was a disgustingly healthy fifteen year old. It wiped the floor with me. The Specialist pronounced me " A walking miracle ", for having survived it's full course.

I survived because I knew I had unfinished business with those rats.

They had their pop at me.

I'm Still wreaking my vengeance on them to this day!

I went to see the farmer that had Weil's last night, He is firing on all cylinders again now. No contact from the the EH as yet but seeing as another farmer in the locality is being treated with the same antibiotics I don't think it will be long.

HSE always have loads of the Leptospirosis cards on their stand. Check them out next week at pest tech. Might be worth getting a couple to leave with any farmers you have contracts with. I canoe a bit and in the early 90's we had a doctor go down with it from some swimming in the River Dee at Chester. Fortunately the BCU had issued on the back of everyones membership cards, weils disease symptoms. Her husband was a doctor and pumped her full of antibiotics and she was back paddling within a couple of months.

The jaundice is now just about clear from the farmer. We both made page 2 in the Gloucestershire news paper head line "Rat Catcher Spots A Man's Deadly illness"
