Had a cluster fly job earlier in the week. An old converted oast house with flies in the oast loft and loft bedroom below. Arrived and surveyed the scene to find the bedroom below full of flies because the loft hatch was a poor seal around the central oak spindle that was connected to the turny bit on the roof. After explaining the life cycle of the various CFs as you do I went on to the H&S; stuff. I was going to fog the loft and the top bedroom. I instructed the lady to keep the sliding bedroom door and lower bedroom door shut for two hours and then ventilate both rooms. She then wrote the cheque and went to do some Christmas shoping leaving me to do the job and lock up.
So I opened loft hatch, fogged, shut loft hatch, fogged bedroom, unplugged fogger and thought I heard a noise under the bed. I removed fogger, ULV bottle and torch onto the landing and looked back into the bedroom. Through the haze of ULV plodded a rather fat tabby cat from under the bed and wandered back down the stairs.
I made a quick note to add to future Risk Assessments - check under bed for cats before ULVing bedrooms.
