NPTA Training Day Thursday 14th May 2008
Sponsored by Barrettine Environmental Health (with assistance from some of their major suppliers)
Shuttleworth College Old Warden Park, Nr. Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, SG18 9EA Web site: www.shuttleworth.ac.uk
Theme for the day
Reduce Your Environmental Impact and gain a Competitive Edge
Does reducing your environmental impact simply pander to the desires of tree huggers or does it represent a valuable opportunity to promote your services to a Public increasingly worried about environmental issues?
This Training Day looks at how you can become more environmentally friendly, meeting a growing need to your own benefit.
This Training Day aims to cover a range Environmental Impact issues of relevance to the pest control Manager, whether in the private or public sector.
We will have a speaker from Natural England who will deal with some of the environmental pressures that are being placed on the use of pesticides.
We will be looking at the environmental concerns surrounding bird management, with the importance of getting it right first time a key issue which also affects controlling costs.
We have a speaker from Holland on some new EFK technology just available in the UK which will reduce the hazardous waste from fluorescent tubes and will also result in less frequent tube replacements, thus saving significant costs.
We will also be looking at a number of pest control products, for both insect and rat control, that will reduce the risks to non-target animals.
We will also look at the role of repellents in the management of dogs, foxes, rabbits, moles and geese, focussing on a product that has just had its label extended to include the above pests.
We expect to have around 60 delegates, as the last two years. Members of the NPTA and invited guests of Barrettine will not be charged for the day, with a 20 charge to others to cover the cost of the days lunch and refreshments.
As this event is usually oversubscribed, there is a nominal limit of 2 delegates per organisation and places will be allocated on a first-come first-serve basis. We recommend you register your interest as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
All delegates must Pre-Register with the NPTA Office at 0194981133.
Attendance will merit CPD points for those that need them.
