Now then, here's one for you. Just shows how the times they are a changin' (get lost, Dylan, that's my line).
Just flickin through some old literature, as you do, and came across this little gem.
In July 1864, a prize of 50 quid was offered at an exhibition of vermin traps in South Kensington for the most humane trap; there were over 100 entries. This is the bit I like- the event was organised by the RSPCA. Let me visualise the likelihood of that happening today. Nah, just a black tunnel...
Hey, is that light at the end, or just a wee red un lookin fer a home? I give up, odds are the same fer either....Bugger

I suspect the likes of Ben Read will have some copies available. If ye can't get hold of a copy, let me know and I'll photocopy the relevant bits for ye

Cheers, mate! Soon as I read that, I just reached for Trev's book. Got that and his Bird Traps one right here on the Work Station.

Must admit, I only tend to look at it now when someone says; " Like the one in TB's book. Page .... " I must have half the traps in there. Seeing the other half just makes me sick !

If it makes you feel any better, you do not vomit alone on this one. It saddens me greatly to think how many of these bygones are in landfill, or red dust in an old barn.
