I have been informed by Richard from Essex that there is a problem with Talunex and it is all being recalled, no stock will be available for the foreseeable future, all flasks purchased in the last 12 months are to be returned. We need some information from Certis ASAP, I have jobs and training booked no doubt some of you will have fumigation work on the cards.
We have received the following communication from Peter Shakespeare, Sales Manager at Certis:
I can confirm that we have been made aware of a potential quality issue with the product Talunex. Given the nature of this product we have taken the precautionary step of suspending sales to our distributors and have asked you to quarantine any stock that you are currently holding and to re-call the product from your customers while the quality issue is investigated. We will keep you informed of further developments around this issue as soon as possible.
We will be checking our records and contacting customers shortly.
So are we going to find out what this quality issue is? There seems to be a lot of mystery but very few facts. If the recall covers the last 12 months then many of us will have used the "faulty" product in this time so it would be courteous to have a full explanation. Does it effect efficacy? safety? is it the packaging or the product itself?
"A deafening silence from Certis" ? We have been told that there has been a quality problem I think Certis have been very brave in what they have done, would it have not been easier to say nothing and just slip some of the higher quality AI into the system, My hat comes off to Certis how many others in the climate would have just fobbed us off?
AS an update many of you may now have read the death and the recall are unrelated. Could it be a quality issue, I have just done two jobs with Talunex and both treatments failed (i dont usualy have problems)?
