can someone tell me what these are and how i can kill/control it?

http://www.bubbleshare.com/album/103544.3701054c8d0

one is white, about 1.5cm in length, the other one is brown, 0.8mm in length.
They seem to come out from the carpet... get worse in humid days. I live in San Jose CA where it is rainy season now. Every week a couple of them just appear on the carpet.
Thanks.

I have seen these, and a while back we had to ID them for a householder. I can't for the life of me remember what they were, though White Brown Shouldered Moth springs to mind. I am back at work on 2nd Jan and can confirm that or suggest something else. Sorry I can't be much more help but we have done a lot of ID's recently

Simon

PS...the more I think about it the more sure I am that's what they are. The fact you are finding them on the carpet makes sense - probably at the edges. Are you seeing any sign of damage to the carpet ? If it is what I think it is, you can get rid of them quite simply with a professional spray treatment. As I say, I will confirm next week

Just hoovering won't get rid of your problem, you will only remove what you SEE - the eggs will be in the nooks and crannies !

Holiday ? What holiday ?
