I have 6 years experience as a PCO with a Local Authority. I have my BPCA Level 2 and REHIS Intemediate Food Hygiene Certificate. I'm thinking of further qualifications eg BPCA Level 3, NPTA Advanced Diploma, BPCA Accredited Tech etc. Anybody any advice on these or any other training/qualifications. Although I really enjoy my work I would like at some time to progress.
You need to think about where you want to go with your qualifications and career. If you are still a LA pestie and want to remain in LA then I suggest the NPTA Advanced Diploma and then some training on supervision and leadership. Otherwise gear your training towards your perceived career path. Good luck.
I'm still working for an LA and would prefer to stay - pay, hours and conditions are good. If the opportunity arises I would like to get into a supervisory position. I enrolled on the NPTA Advanced Diploma course which was cancelled at very short notice. I had paid the course fee, hotel accomodation, car hire etc and it took quite a bit of effort to have my course fee refunded, I don't think it had anything to do with NPTA but with the course organisers. I'm considering the BPCA Accredited Pest Tech. Maybe after that I will think about some supervisory training. Thanks for your advice.
